Avenham Surgery has a ‘5* Excellence in Teaching Award’ and is committed to supporting the ongoing learning and development of trainee doctors and medical students.
Foundation Year 2 Doctors
We have Foundation Year 2 Doctors (FY2) who work at the practice for a period of time before moving on to another speciality area for further training. The FY2 doctors have their own clinics within the practice and are supervised by a Practice GP who is appointed as their trainer and has undergone the necessary training.
Medical Students
The Surgery also supports both third year and fourth year medical students. Our medical students sit in the patient clinics with their supervising GP or nurse to observe.
